Meeting with the governors
A few weeks ago, the school council had a meeting with the Governors discussing different things that have gone on throughout the school. The Governors names were Mrs Johns and Mrs Bruzas. We discussed things that could be improved throughout the school such as a new IT suite, Ipads and a board showing who some of the Governors are .The meeting was a complete success and was rounded off with some delicious cakes donated by parents of the school council.
Ragtex Assembly
Not long ago we had a woman named Jo come in to talk to us about Ragtex.
She told us what happens to the clothes we donate and where they go. We all realised how much families in foreign countries need our unwanted things and what a difference they make. If you would like to donate any of your old clothes, pillow cases, shoes, bedding or soft toys just come in to our school and we will give you a sticker to put on a black dustbin bag.
The next collection for Ragtex is on Tuesday 1st May.

A Special Journey!
| On January 31st Mrs Moore, Ms Phillips and 3 Worship Wardens made a special journey to collect the Church Schools' candle from William Lovell School. The candle has been on a remarkable journey, visiting all the Church Schools in the Diocese of Lincoln as part of the 200 Years of Church Schools celebrations. There are 141 Church Schools altogether. It began its journey in July at a special service in the Cathdral. Each school holds a special service welcoming the candle and another as they give it to the next school. | ||
| The following day we held our service and invited Kirkby on Bain to receive the candle. We reflected on the changes that have happened in our school and shared our experiences of the celebrations in this special year. Finally we handed the candle over to the children of Kirkby on Bain school so that the candle could continue on this special journey. This journey will end back at the Cathedral at the end of the school year. | ||
In Mareham’s Fields, We Will Remember Them…
Mareham Le Fen Church of England Primary School held a special service of Remembrance on Friday. Canon Alec Boyd led the service and then the whole school processed out onto the field where they placed poppy crosses. All the children felt that it was a really good way of understanding what Remembrance Day is all about. They also felt that the service was very touching.
Congratulations
We managed to raise over £200 on our pink day. Well done and thank you to everyone who provided the cakes, they were delicious!

Sculpture Garden
To help celebrate 200 years of Church Schools we have been busy creating a sculpture garden with the help of Maggie from Zoo Ceramics. We all contributed from the large animals that form the Totem Poles, to the small pebbles around them. Bishop David came to bless our garden. This was followed by a service at the church and an afternoon tea at school. We are really proud of our garden and everyone admires it as they walk past.
The Pirates of the Curry Bean
Key stage 2 presented their first production, Pirates of the Curry Bean. Both nights were sold out and everyone was impressed with the performance. A very big well done to all who took part. We are hoping to repeat this next summer. Watch this space.
